Village of Hancock Goes Online
By Jonathan Stoops
VILLAGE OF HANCOCK, NY.–(BUSINESS WIRE)—March 7th, 2013
The Village of Hancock, New York announced plans to accept payments online. This move expands options for paying obligations and is part of a broader effort to increase convenience to residents. Customers wishing to pay their obligations may go online at www.paygov.us, visit the Village Clerk’s office or call 1-866-480-8552.
The search for the right company took longer than expected. Few were willing to accommodate the needs of the Village or were simply too expensive. Phyllis Falsetta, Village Clerk, searched for a vendor which specialized in local government. Most companies offering services to municipalities engaged their clients in long term contracts or charged exorbitant fees. Mrs. Falsetta knew there had to be a better way. After discussing the problem with their local bank they were given the recommendation to review a different kind of company. “We have a great relationship with NBT Bank. PayGOV came highly recommended and we felt comfortable with their program. PayGOV has positioned us to move forward technologically without absorbing the costs.” Mrs. Falsetta explained further, “We have wanted to offer this service for quite some time and now we can.”
PayGOV Owner Laura Hiatt expressed her delight in the opportunity to serve the Village and welcomed the expansion into New York. Mrs. Hiatt offered a quick statement, “We stand by our service. Our agreements are month to month – guaranteeing we will always answer our phones to fix any issue. We cover the cost of the equipment and we indemnify our municipalities of all liability. Our goal has been and will be to out-serve our competition.”
PayGOV.US, a leading provider of electronic payment options based in Indianapolis, Indiana and 2009 Indiana Companies to Watch Award Winner, has similar agreements with government entities and utilities in over 36 states.
