ALEXANDRIA, Indiana.–(BUSINESS WIRE)— February 10th, 2012
The City of Alexandria has moved forward on a plan to expand customer payment options. Residents now can enjoy the convenience of paying their Utility bills online. To pay online simply go to (http://www.alexandriaindiana.net/). Credit and Debit card payments can also be made by phone (866-480-8552) or in person at the Utility Office.
Understanding the financial struggles many residents face the City has been reviewing measures to reduce expenditures while improving customer service. One improvement that made sense was to start accepting Credit and Debit Cards. Unfortunately, there are expensive fees involved with accepting electronic payments. Unable to absorb the cost, but determined to find a solution, the City reached out to other Cities and Towns for ideas. Overwhelmingly, PayGOV was recommended as the way to go.
Both Mayor Jack Woods and Clerk-Treasurer Jan Lynch are to be commended for their efforts in serving residents. “The addition of credit cards has been a desire for a long time, and I’m extremely happy to report that the City continues to improve upon our goal of providing accurate, timely, and efficient customer service,” explained Mayor Woods.
