Fountain County Indiana Treasurer Goes LIVE

COVINGTON, INDIANA–(BUSINESS WIRE)— JANUARY 14th, 2014

The Fountain County Treasurers’ office is now accepting payments online. The County moved to contract with PayGOV.US to provide the service. PayGOV.US is the premier provider to government agencies. To pay your taxes online visit www.paygov.us and enter Pay Location Code 3717.

Todays’ savvy consumer expect secure and convenient payment options. Fountain County officials have worked for several years to find a program which would meet these requirements while maintaining affordability. Treasurer Colleen Chambers had hoped to broaden tax payment options but was set back at the costs involved. Most banks required the County to purchase equipment, absorb transaction costs, and enjoin in lengthy contracts. These fees were often high and were considered an unacceptable cost of doing business. Especially when the cost would benefit only those who chose to pay via those methods. There had to be another way.

The service provided by PayGOV.US is paid for only by those customers which choose to use it. A nominal fee is assessed for the convenience of paying online. By passing along the normal fees associated with credit card acceptance to the user the County can now offer these options without raising the costs for traditional payers.

PayGOV.US was chosen because of their excellent reputation among municipalities and their multi-faceted solution. PayGOV.US meets all of the Counties requirements today while offering a flexible platform for future growth.

City of Fort Benton Montana goes online

City of Fort Benton Montana goes online

FORT BENTON, MONTANA –(BUSINESS WIRE)— July 11th, 2013

The City of Fort Benton has moved forward on a plan to expand customer payment options. Residents now can enjoy the convenience of paying their Utility
bills online. To pay online simply go to (http://cityoffortbenton.com/index.html ). Credit and Debit
card payments can also be made by phone (866-480-8552) or in person at the Utility Office.

Early research into accepting credit cards led to several companies whose programs were simply cost prohibitive. The City was unable to absorb the costs
involved. City Clerk Patty Parchen focused her search on what other Montana municipalities were using. “

We contacted several Montana Cities and they all had the same recommendation – PayGOV.US. PayGOV allows the City to accept online payments without
paying the fees. Instead of all residents paying more to cover the costs only those that use the service pay a small convenience fee. Offering credit
cards has been a goal for a long time, and I’m happy to report that now we do!”

Boswell, Indiana – Takes payments online

by J. Stoops

BOSWELL, Indiana.–(BUSINESS WIRE)— April 27th, 2013

The Town of Boswell is offering new payment options. Residents can pay their utility bill online (www.paygov.us), over the phone (866-480-8552), or at the Town hall.

The Town had been researching online payments in an effort to improve customer service. Officials had considered several options but the costs to the Town were unrealistic. Residents are dealing with personal hardship and struggling financially and if accepting credit cards meant raising the costs on Boswell residents then the costs were too high. The Clerk/Treasurer’s office was determined to find a solution and reached out to other Towns. Overwhelmingly, the recommendation was for PayGOV.US. PayGOV is the preferred payments provider for Indiana Cities and Towns. Clerk/Treasurer Donna Musenbrock pioneered the search, “Our customers work hard and expect to be able to pay their Utilities at their convenience. At the same time we couldn’t justify the Town paying for the service.” explained Mrs. Musenbrock. “Thankfully, PayGOV came highly recommended as the solution to our problem! Best of all is the cost to the town – FREE!”

Village of Hancock Goes Online

VILLAGE OF HANCOCK, NY.–(BUSINESS WIRE)—March 7th, 2013

The Village of Hancock, New York announced plans to accept payments online. This move expands options for paying obligations and is part of a broader effort to increase convenience to residents. Customers wishing to pay their obligations may go online at www.paygov.us, visit the Village Clerk’s office or call 1-866-480-8552.

The search for the right company took longer than expected. Few were willing to accommodate the needs of the Village or were simply too expensive. Phyllis Falsetta, Village Clerk, searched for a vendor which specialized in local government. Most companies offering services to municipalities engaged their clients in long term contracts or charged exorbitant fees. Mrs. Falsetta knew there had to be a better way. After discussing the problem with their local bank they were given the recommendation to review a different kind of company. “We have a great relationship with NBT Bank. PayGOV came highly recommended and we felt comfortable with their program. PayGOV has positioned us to move forward technologically without absorbing the costs.” Mrs. Falsetta explained further, “We have wanted to offer this service for quite some time and now we can.”

PayGOV Owner Laura Hiatt expressed her delight in the opportunity to serve the Village and welcomed the expansion into New York. Mrs. Hiatt offered a quick statement, “We stand by our service. Our agreements are month to month – guaranteeing we will always answer our phones to fix any issue. We cover the cost of the equipment and we indemnify our municipalities of all liability. Our goal has been and will be to out-serve our competition.”
