The City of Morro Bay, California Goes Mobile

Over the past few years the City of Morro Bay has developed a set of strategic, long-term goals for the community and then adopted specific, two-year objectives related to each goal. One of these goals was to simplify the payment process. To achieve this goal the City has agreed to move forward with online and mobile electronic payments acceptance.

To facilitate the transition the City will partner with Indianapolis based PayGOV.US and their strategic partner, Transfirst LLC. PayGOV.US is the premier provider of electronic payment services to American Cities and Towns currently serving over 1,000 municipal clients in over 40 States. Transfirst is an industry powerhouse of payment technology solutions to U.S. merchants.

PayGOV.US assesses a nominal convenience fee processing these transactions. American Express®, MasterCard ®, Discover ® and VISA ® along with debit cards carrying a MasterCard ® or Visa ® are accepted by the program. Citizens using credit cards with bonus rewards programs can, depending on their card’s program, earn rewards, points, and cash-back on airline frequent flyer miles.
